Hiking


From the campsite, several circular walks (PR = Petite Randonnée) are possible from a distance between
6 and 12 km, which take between 2 and 4 hours.
There are also plenty of hiking opportunities with beautiful views from Saint Martin Cantalès and other villages in the area.
 

The walking routes are well marked and leaflets are available with a description of the specifics.

From Saint Christophe les Gorges you can walk down to the chapel.
Between the 2 rivers you have a beautiful view of the Gorges de la Maronne.

At Salins a circular walk is possible under a waterfall and then via a rope bridge over the river.

There are also many hiking opportunities in the wider area.

For example, in the Monts du Cantal you can make various long-distance walks
(GR = Grande Randonnée), and its mountains of varying heights to climb,
for example the Puy Violent (1594 m) and the Puy Mary (1787 m), with great views.

A special experience is a walk on the abandoned railway line.
For the adventurous walker, the tunnels near the campsite are of course exciting.
